The Burja Estate connects a traditional Vipava Valley winegrowing farm with a modern understanding of wine. They pride themselves on recognising their roots, bases and flavours in wine whilst at the same time respecting the soil, vines and climate as a whole. A blend of 40% Schioppettino, 30% Refosco and 30% Blaufrankisch, the nose is fresh with aromas of sour cherry and redcurrant with the latter two grapes providing plenty of spice and black fruit oomph. The palate is bright, yet elegant, with a good balance of complexity and fruit. Well-structured and with a long finish, this is a wine drinking well now but will continue to develop in-bottle over the next 5-10 years.
